Meet Tracey

Tracey is a Financial Welfare Office who joined the Money Guiders England Network to support her work and connect with other professionals.

The Money Guiders England Network is a free programme designed to help individuals and organisations develop the skills and confidence to have effective conversations about money. Aimed at professionals whose role involves supporting others with money-related challenges, the service is facilitated by Reed in Partnership, in partnership with the Money and Pensions Service (Maps), to provide practical tools to find information, explore options and access support for any kind of money matter.

Tracey joined the Money Guiders Network in March 2024. As a Financial Welfare Officer, her role is to help people navigate financial challenges and ensure they receive the support they’re entitled to:

We help people ensure they are getting everything they are entitled to. I wouldn’t say we do everything, but there’s very few things that we can't help with if people reach out to us for support.

Working directly with people, Tracey is constantly looking for opportunities to expand her knowledge and stay informed about new resources and support available to those she helps.

Our support

The network offers far more than training sessions alone: questions and shared experiences from fellow members provide learning opportunities that she can take back into her own work.

I find it a really positive experience to go to the webinars. Even if I don’t attend all the training, I’ve got that knowledge there and I can pass it on.

Tracey’s positive experience has also encouraged her to promote Money Guiders within her organisation. By sharing information about the network, Tracey has helped colleagues discover resources and learning opportunities that can support their own professional development.

Whether it’s a presenter sharing specialist knowledge or another attendee asking a question in the chat, Tracey believes there is always an opportunity to learn.

Moving forward

For Tracey, the greatest benefit of the Money Guiders Network is the sense of community it creates. By bringing together professionals from across the country, the network provides a space to share knowledge, build confidence and improve the support offered to people facing money related challenges.
